Grad Student Assistant Application

Graduate Student Assistants for the 44th PVSC

The Graduate Student Assistants (GSAs) play a very important role in the PVSC, with responsibilities ranging from assisting with conference publications (proceedings), providing support to the oral presentation session chairs, managing the poster sessions, and providing general assistance to conference attendees.

Being a GSA can be a very rewarding experience as you will have the opportunity to interact with many of the conference attendees and organizers, as well as get to know all the other students in the program. As a GSA, you will be expected to work between 15 and 20 hours over the course of the week. In exchange, you will receive a number of valuable benefits, described below.

Successful applicants will receive:

  • Complimentary conference registration
  • Free ticket for the conference banquet
  • $500 (USD) following completion of assigned duties

Given the large number of applications every year, and to encourage students to present their work, priority will be given to students who have also applied for the Best Student Paper Award.

Additional considerations include, but are not necessarily limited to, whether you are presenting a paper (oral or poster), the length of your attendance (partial vs. full conference), your graduate program degree goal and year, and prior experience as a GSA. We encourage all students to apply, as we strive to support a diverse group with national and international representation.

The GSA application form can be found here. The application deadline is April 10th, so act now!
