Special EDS Initiative for Delegates from Member Countries of International Solar Alliance (ISA) to attend PVSC

The 46th Photovoltaic Specialists Conference (PVSC) is teaming up with the IEEE Electron Devices Society (EDS), and the International Solar Alliance (ISA) for a unique initiative to welcome delegates from under-represented ISA countries to PVSC in Chicago in June 2019.  The International Solar Alliance (http://isolaralliance.org/) is a recently launched initiative under the UN Climate Change Program to spread the utilization of solar energy to many more countries in the world.  Seventy-one countries have signed the ISA Framework Agreement, and many delegates from the smaller countries would like to be integrated into the PV R&D community.

This year, EDS is making a special effort to encourage delegates from ISA member countries (http://isolaralliance.org/MemberCont.aspx), which have not been represented at PVSC in past years, to attend the 46th PVSC in Chicago, IL in June 2019. Towards this end, EDS will waive the Registration Fee of selected delegates, and in some cases may provide partial support for stay at the conference.

It should be emphasized that the EDS support will be available primarily to delegates from ISA member countries which have so far been un- or under-represented at PVSC.

I invite PV researchers and policy makers from ISA countries to apply for the waiver of Registration Fee and/or partial support for stay in Chicago.  Please complete the Application Form and send it to Juzer Vasi ([email protected]) with “ISA Application” in the subject line.  Applications received by March 15 will be reviewed and applicants notified by March 30.  If additional funds are available, applications received after March 15 will be reviewed and notified within 3 weeks.

Sincerely,

Sarah Kurtz
