All Sputtered CdTe/CdS Thin Film Solar Cells with Indium Doped Highly Resistive Absorber Layer Tursunjan Ablekim, Santosh Swain and Kelvin G. Lynn Center for Materials Research, Washington State University, Pullman, WA 99164-2711, USA The performance of CdTe thin film solar cells is dependent on intrinsic crystal properties such as carrier concentration, mobility, life time and resistivity. Improving crystal quality in particular for solar energy purpose will lead to improvements in cell efficiency. Cadmium telluride crystals doped with indium is grown using vertical Bridgman method and sputtering target of 3” is prepared. Solar cells are fabricated using standard superstrate configuration with structure of glass/SnO2:F/CdS/CdTe/Cu/Au. The fabricated solar cells are found to have smaller shunt resistance and larger series resistance. |
