Research on ground-based or satellite solar resource assessment, such as new technologies, uncertainty quantification or intercomparison of existing technologies, application of solar resource data to derive economic metrics (P90 etc.), satellite data corrections using ground data (site adaptation), models for estimating solar variability of a large power plant or distributed systems based on a point sensor, or intensive measurement campaigns. Solar resource characterization and modeling specific to PV system performance prediction, such as cell temperature models, soiling, angle-of-incidence effects, transposition models to the plane-of-array, etc.
